Skype is a benchmark in terms of VoIP, but not free. GNU Free Call is a free VoIP project is to be the alternative to Skype. GNU Free Call service aims to be a free software platform (and based on P2P technology) to enable communication between two ends safely. The project will use known protocols such as SIP and GNU SIP Witch to not depend on any company or its protocols (such as Skype). Concerning the deployment of the application, the project team has in mind to bring the software to both desktop and to mobile phones (the first to arrive will be Android). Certainly a very interesting project (though not devoid of pitfalls, as this will not please the operators), so we wish them all the luck in the world. We will continue to watch!
